A project to relocate 12,800 kilometers of overhead wires underground is being started by the city of Bengaluru. The initiative, which would cost Rs 200 crore, intends to make the city look better and increase safety. It is anticipated that work will soon begin, maybe in the Mahadevapura area.
As part of the “Brand Bengaluru” campaign, the initiative aims to upgrade the city’s infrastructure. Power lines and telecommunications optical fiber cables will be installed in the subterranean tunnel. The new corridor will make advantage of the 15,000 kilometers of ducts that the city now has.
