Unilever’s chief executive Fernando Fernandez has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to investing in India, calling it central to protecting the FMCG giant’s market leadership in the country. Speaking to investors, he described the coming ten years as “the decade of India,” emphasising that the country will play a pivotal role in Unilever’s overall growth strategy.
The maker of Dove soap expects its Indian subsidiary, Hindustan Unilever (HUL), to post high-single-digit growth in the upcoming quarters. Chief Financial Officer Srinivas Phatak added that profit growth is likely to outpace revenue growth during this period.
HUL has already shown strong momentum, outperforming Unilever’s global businesses on key metrics in the first quarter of FY27, with volume growth at 5% and value growth at 10%.
