Aviation industry veteran Willie Walsh officially took over as chief executive officer of IndiGo on Monday, stepping into the top role at India’s largest airline as it presses forward with an ambitious plan to grow internationally.
The airline had first announced his appointment back in March this year.
Walsh’s takeover comes at a crucial juncture, with IndiGo currently expanding its overseas presence, adding long-haul aircraft to its fleet, and building out its global network.
