Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya reportedly reached out to Gujarat Titans about a possible move back to the franchise, but the talks fell through after he insisted on being made captain again as a condition of the return, according to The Indian Express.
Sources indicate Gujarat Titans — the team where Pandya led the side to an IPL title in their debut season in 2022, before he departed for Mumbai Indians in 2024 — had actually been receptive to welcoming him back. The franchise had even floated the idea with their present captain, Shubman Gill. However, Pandya’s insistence on reclaiming the captain’s role proved to be a sticking point that ultimately scuttled any deal.
