Air Kerala, the newest entrant in India’s aviation sector, has announced plans to commence operations in June 2025, with its inaugural flight departing from Kannur International Airport. The airline has finalized key leadership appointments, including its CEO and CFO, and has partnered with Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL) to facilitate regional flight operations.
Under its agreement with KIAL, Air Kerala will initially target domestic routes within a one-and-a-half-hour flying radius from Kannur. Chairman Afi Ahmed highlighted the strategic importance of Kannur Airport’s infrastructure, stating, “Kannur International Airport will play a pivotal role in our operational strategy.”
