Bengaluru’s much-awaited Yellow Metro Line officially opens to the public today, just a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged it off. Running from RV Road to Bommasandra, the 19-km stretch with 16 stations promises to significantly ease travel for commuters across the city. Trains will operate from 5 AM onwards starting Monday, August 11.
A Game-Changer for City Commutes
This new line connects the city’s southern end at RV Road to the bustling industrial hub of Bommasandra. It features three key interchanges — at RV Road (linking to the Green Line), Jayadeva, and Central Silk Board (which will connect to the upcoming Pink and Blue lines).
With the Yellow Line’s launch, Namma Metro’s total operational network expands to over 96 km, making Bengaluru’s metro system the second-largest in India after Delhi. The line will also improve access to major tech and industrial hubs, including Infosys, Wipro, Biocon, and Tech Mahindra, transforming daily travel for thousands of professionals.
