For several decades, India’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors have been notable for having women in prominent positions. More women than ever are securing boardroom seats, thanks to their nurturing and caregiving qualities, which are well suited to the healthcare field. Particularly in today’s uncertain times, powerful and quality female leadership is more crucial than ever. This is where leaders like Dr. Vincy Ashok Tribhuvan shine. As the Vice President for Nursing Administration at the CARE Hospitals Group, Dr. Vincy excels as a force to reckon.

To begin with

Dr. Vincy’s journey started in a small village in southern India, where her family prioritized the education of their daughters. Motivated by a love for learning, she excelled in her studies. Inspired by a cousin, she chose to become a staff nurse.

Driven by strong will and clear goals, she had the opportunity to learn from the Top Leaders and Organizations in the field. Her demonstrated expertise in People Management, Communication, Assertiveness, Customer Focus, and Clinical Excellence distinguished her to stand tall among her contemporaries. Now, she leads a diverse team of more than 3000 Nurses at CARE Hospitals Group, setting directions, goals, and deliverables.

Vision and Impact

Dr. Vincy ventures beyond her Corporate role of Vice President, actively engaging in various Health Forums and advocating strongly for Ethical Procedures, Patient Safety, Patient Engagement and high-Quality care. As a result, under her capable leadership hospitals have attained both National and International Accreditations and Certifications for standardizing Patient Care.

In response to the worldwide scarcity of skilled nurses, Dr. Vincy has mentored and guided more than 5,000 Staff Nurses, focusing on Professional Growth, Equitable Remuneration, and Safe working environments. By redesigning the process of Appreciation, Recognition, Engagement and strengthening the communication channels for Nurses, she has a proven record of bringing down the Nursing Attrition.

To be in pace with the evolving healthcare landscape, advancement in technology and shifts in healthcare delivery models, Dr. Vincy stresses how important it is for Nurse Administrators to constantly upgrade their competencies and expand their horizons. She has embraced Democratic and Transformational leadership approaches at CARE Hospitals and the practice of periodical revision of Protocols, Regulations and the Alignment of Nursing goals to Organizational Vision. She has also created strong Onboarding and Training programs, and advocates using technology to increase Productivity, guarantee Patient Safety, and cultivate future leaders via internal succession planning.

In the Days to Come

When asked about her aspirations for the future, Dr. Vincy shared, “I aim to tackle healthcare disparities through regulatory changes and policy reforms, develop outreach programs, and advocate for policies that address social determinants of health.” She also expressed her commitment to enhancing the nursing profession by ensuring pay parity, upgrading nursing education, and developing skilled nurses to achieve clinical excellence, thus serving the country.

On a Personal Note

Dr. Vincy is an avid reader of fiction and biographies, committed to fitness through daily walks and yoga. She enjoys watching K-dramas, listening to music, and engages in activities related to her profession.

With a supportive Husband, Daughter and Family, who keep her grounded, she finds joy in giving, maintains resilience, and practices forgiveness. Dr. Vincy avoids bringing work-related stress to home and prioritizes her family, a balance that has enabled her to earn qualifications like PGDHHM, MBA, and PhD. Encouraged by her Teachers and Parents, she had the desire to excel which was aptly propelled by her husband’s unwavering support.

Girl child education, Empowerment and Financial independence are the topics very close to her heart. Dr Vincy is a Change Agent in true sense and an ideal leader for any Nurse who dares to dream with the perseverance and hard work to make it from Bedside to Boardroom.
