Flipkart is expected to become the first rapid commerce provider to deliver medications in less than ten minutes, which would increase competition in this booming sector.
According to a senior industry official with knowledge of the preparations, the Flipkart Minutes business, which is owned by Walmart, has begun hiring local pharmacists in the metro areas where the items would be marketed through its last mile delivery partners.
Flipkart is in a rush because it wants to be the first online retailer to sell prescription drugs. Undoubtedly, the company’s collaborations with regional pharmacists must align with India’s pharmacy regulations, which prohibit foreign-backed e-commerce companies from possessing inventory. Additionally, Flipkart may only collaborate with licensed pharmacists.
