In a significant boost to the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision and India’s aviation industry, Punjab-based Nalwa Aero has secured design approval for its 5-seater electric air taxis. These eVTOL aircraft, capable of flying both within and between cities for up to 300 km, mark a breakthrough in sustainable air mobility. With this achievement, Nalwa Aero has become the first Indian company to receive Design Organisation Approval (DOA) from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for electric aircraft with five or more seats. The certificate was formally handed over to Nalwa Aero’s CEO, Kuljeet Sandhu, by Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu during the North India Aviation Summit.
