Kerala’s first seaplane is finally here, a major boost to the state’s tourism

Kerala’s tourist industry received a significant boost on Sunday night when the ‘De Havilland Canada’ aircraft touched down at the Bolgatty waterdrome on the city side of Kochi Lake.

The amphibious aircraft was greeted by State Tourism Additional Director P Vishnuraj, District Collector N S K Umesh, Tourism Secretary K Biju, Aviation Secretary Biju Prabhakar, and officials from a number of tourism organizations.

According to an official release, State Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas will launch the 17-seater aircraft’s inaugural flight to Mattupetti on Monday.
