The Maharashtra government plans to acquire nearly 8,000 acres of land to develop new industrial units in the city, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced on Sunday. Speaking at an awards ceremony hosted by the Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA), Fadnavis highlighted the city’s rapid emergence as a major electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in India.
“With rising demand for industrial space, we’re moving to allocate 8,000 acres to meet this growing need. Several companies are eager to establish a presence here,” he stated. The Chief Minister also unveiled plans for major infrastructure upgrades, including a ring road to enhance connectivity across industrial areas and a large flyover to reduce traffic congestion. He assured that funding for these projects will be secured.
