Zero-sugar and low-sugar drinks made up a record 88 per cent of PepsiCo India’s sales volumes in the July–September 2026 quarter, double the 44 per cent share a year earlier, as consumers turned away from sugary drinks. The shift also helped the company ease margin pressure from a steep, continued rise in sugar prices.
Larger rival Coca-Cola, which leads India’s ₹60,000-crore soft drinks market, also saw sales of its diet and light drinks double from last year. That range now includes Schweppes’ sugar-free flavoured drinks.
