SpiceJet has announced the commencement of special non-stop flights connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad with Najaf, Iraq, starting on October 18 and 19, 2025, respectively. With this new service, SpiceJet becomes the first Indian airline to offer direct connectivity to Najaf.
Najaf, also known as Al-Najaf al-Ashraf, is located about 160 km south of Baghdad and serves as the capital of Najaf province. Recognized as one of the holiest cities in Islam, Najaf is a major pilgrimage site for Shia Muslims and houses the revered Shrine of Imam Ali, the cousin and son-in-law of Prophet Muhammad, which draws millions of pilgrims annually.
