SpiceJet has signed a lease agreement for five additional Boeing 737 aircraft to strengthen its fleet ahead of the Winter 2025 travel rush, the airline announced in a stock exchange filing on Wednesday.
With this move, the carrier’s total planned aircraft inductions now stand at 10. Most of the newly leased planes are expected to join the fleet in October 2025, with a few arriving slightly earlier.
The aircraft, brought in under damp lease arrangements, will primarily operate on high-demand winter routes. They are expected to remain in service through the early summer season of 2026, before exiting in May.
