Tech mogul Elon Musk’s electric vehicle giant, Tesla, has officially launched sales of its Model Y in India, with prices starting at approximately $69,770 (₹60 lakh), according to the company’s website on Tuesday. This move comes as Tesla gears up to open its first showroom in Mumbai, India’s financial capital.
India, now the world’s third-largest automobile market, still sees limited adoption of electric vehicles. A major hurdle remains the scarcity of charging infrastructure, which continues to deter even affluent consumers from switching to EVs. Despite these challenges, Tesla’s entry signals growing interest in the country’s evolving automotive landscape.
