Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away on Thursday morning, October 8, at the age of 75, after suffering a cardiac arrest at his home in Goa. His son, Malhar Patekar, confirmed the news to local media.
The actor was found unconscious at his residence in Dona Paula and was rushed to Manipal Hospital. Doctors tried to revive him for about 45 minutes but couldn’t save him. He was declared dead at around 5:20 am, and doctors cited a heart attack as the cause of death.
A multiple National Award winner, Nana Patekar is widely regarded as one of the finest actors of his generation. Tributes have started pouring in from the film industry and beyond. Details of his funeral and last rites are yet to be announced.
