Vijay Singh, vice chairman of Tata Trusts, has resigned as a trustee of the Sir Ratan Tata Trust (SRTT) ahead of his term’s expiry on August 14, closing out a lengthy association with the institution at a moment when the Trusts are dealing with internal friction and increased regulatory attention.
Despite this exit, Singh will remain on board as a trustee of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust for an additional year.
The development comes as the Sir Ratan Tata Trust has approached the Maharashtra Charity Commissioner for approval to convene key meetings, with roughly ₹400 crore in planned charitable disbursements and pending shareholder decisions currently hanging in the balance.
