Xiaomi’s India Smartphone Revenues Nosedive 45% in Q1 Despite Premium Push

Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has witnessed a sharp 45% year-on-year drop in its wholesale revenues from smartphone sales in India during the March 2025 quarter, even as the company shifts focus to the premium market segment. This significant decline highlights the ongoing challenges faced by Xiaomi in what is its second-largest market by volume.

According to exclusive data from market research firm Canalys, accessed by The Economic Times, Xiaomi’s smartphone revenues in India (excluding GST) fell to $47.2 million in the quarter, reflecting the brand’s struggle to retain its foothold amid changing consumer preferences and intensified competition.
