The Central government has introduced detailed operational guidelines for establishing around 72,300 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across the country. This initiative comes with a funding support of Rs 2,000 crore allocated under the Rs 10,900 crore PM E-DRIVE scheme. As part of the plan, a tiered subsidy structure has been recommended to encourage and assist the installation of EV charging networks at varied locations nationwide.
