OYO Revises Check-In Policy, Restricts Access for Unmarried Couples

Travel booking giant OYO has introduced a new check-in policy for its partner hotels, starting in Meerut. Under the updated guidelines, effective this year, unmarried couples will no longer be permitted to check in. All couples, including those with online bookings, will be required to present valid proof of their relationship at the time of check-in. Partner hotels have been given the authority to decline bookings at their discretion, in line with local social norms.

OYO has instructed its partner hotels in Meerut to implement this policy immediately. According to sources familiar with the change, the company may extend this policy to other cities based on feedback from the ground.
